Arizona just offered Devante Downs of Mountlake Terrace yesterday and that folks is ten offers.  All of them Division 1 and schools like UW, OSU, Vanderbilt, Boise State, and ASU.  Arizona was his latest.

“It is another good option for me,” said Downs.  “Really I am very honored.”

4 Star Devante Downs is in the Rivals 200 and moving up. Arizona offered him following Vanderbilt this week.

With all this interest it is about 60% saying they want him as a RB and 40% saying Linebacker.  Still others are saying they will bring him in as an athlete and assign him a position after they get to see him up close and personal.  One thing is for sure this 6’3″- 230 lb fast mover is a guy who really is turning heads and he is quickly becoming the elite big-back in the Region if not the West.

Devante’s name is being bandied about for post season All American play and we will not at all be surprised if he is officially invited to play in one or more of the big games.

What position is Arizona looking at?

“Athlete for now,” answered Devante.  “They really liked my tape and think I can help them on either side of the ball.”

Does he have an specific feelings towards Arizona or does he know much about them?

“Just a little.  But I have been a fan of Coach Rodriguez since he was at West Virginia.”

So there he goes.  Ten offers down and more coming in.  He says he is hoping to hear from UCLA and USC and may well look at the SEC schools as the interest rises.  And you better believe it is rising.

No favorites right now for Downs as he is still weighing all the options and wants to see what the Spring and Summer have in store.
