Evan Voeller Lands U of W Offer First. Oregon Ducks Next?

Out at West Linn a young prodigy has been working and growing and building himself into the best student athlete he can be. It was really just a matter of time and we have had Evan Voeller nailed as a top prospect since he stepped on the field at one of our camps a few years back.

Well all the hard work payed big dividends for the 6’5″ inch 278 Pound Offensive Linemen yesterday as he received his first official offer.

“I was verbally offered a scholarship by the University of Washington Football staff,” said a beaming Voeller.

Evan is a quiet kid and he really had nothing more to say other then, “I am really excited and honored by this.”

Technically he is so very sound on the field. Part of that is a product of his 5 years spent as a young guy at legendary line coach Brian Derby’s Offensive Line camp.

Even though he is only a tenth grader Voeller has made huge strides in his training dropping into the 270’s from the 290’s and adding mass and power while working out at PTC in West Linn.

“We are very honored and just taking it all in,” said Denise Voeller; Evan’s mom.

They are heading to the University of Oregon for a football event tonight and there is no doubt that the Ducks are interested. Based on past contact and the level of interest the staff there has expressed Voeller may be looking at another offer soon.

An interesting dynamic is developing as a border clash between the Huskies and Ducks seems to be heating up over the best prep prospects in the Northwest.

The Ducks have brought the full court press to the battle for Washington’s top two prep prospects Zach Banner and Joshua Garnett firing perhaps the first Salvo.

The Huskies have fired back coming after Oregon’s #1 and #2 in Alex Balducci and Isaac Seumalo first; as well as offering Thomas Tyner and Voeller in the past few days.

The competition for the Northwest elite is not a bad thing as we see more and more focus on the boys of the Pacific Northwest. That is for good reason as our athletes can stack up against the Nations very best.

Voeller is a terrific kid with a very high ceiling. Only time will tell but it appears certain that he will have an official written offer after September 1st this year from the boys in Purple and Gold.

“They are taking back what was theirs. The program is going to build a facility to rival the Ducks and with the power of a huge University like the U of W the Huskies on their way to the top again,” said a Washington insider who understands the inner workings of the Pac 12 better then most.

“This offer for Voeller is a part of the process. To be the best you have to get the best.”

Indeed. We will follow the story of Evan Voeller as it plays out over the next year or so.
