Friday Round Up For Oregon High School Football

Updated:  Catch the ESPN Radio Show here- and we need to correct ourselves.  Travis Spreen is as strong as Doug Brenner as he was the first Jesuit athlete to break into the 1100 pound club when he was a Sophomore.  Listen below!

It’s Friday so tonight we will once again go live on the air with 1080 The Fan ESPN Radio in Portland to discuss news form the recruiting trail.  Here are a few of the things we will cover tonight.

Braden Lenzy 550

Friday Round Up For Oregon High School Football

Juniors Make Their Move:

  • Braden Lenzy – 2018 4 Star Recruit from Tigard –  Braden has 6 major offers and is rated #17 in the Nation at Cornerback.  This week he picked up UCLA – he defines the CB spot and could be the best Corner we have seen in a long time from Oregon.  He leads a great 2018 Class with 4 Stars – has a Purdue offer – and will be a guy schools from back East will be after.  Speed is the name of the game for this guy!
  • Travis Spreen – Jesuit Center 6’3″- 270 lbs.  – He has moved up the ranks in the 2018 class and is one of the guys we fell is nearing an offer.  Makes that Jesuit Line work!
  • Trey Lowe–  If there is one guy that can hang with Lenzy it is Trey Lowe.  He is going to be a 20 offer recruit but he has 2 right now-  Oregon and Oregon State.    He is at 1,700 yards and 34 TD’s and with a deep play off run we expect 3,000 yards to be a reality.
  • Teagan Quitoriano – Sprague High School is home to this 6’6″ 225 lb fast mover.  Better known as a Hooper this kid can play and has earned 2 stars by a few services. Watch his film right here.
  • Cole Turner – 6’7″ – 195 lbs.- speedy WR from Clackamas.  This guys won’t quit growing!  Man what a talent.  Terrific combo of speed and length.  Will he have what it takes to break into the Pac 12 ranks?  We see him as a next up offer so of kid.
  • Draco Bynum –  6’5″- 250 lbs –  If there is a better 2 way player in the State we would like to see it.  His recent film is out of this world on both sides of the ball.  As a DE he is ferocious – he takes NO plays off.  As  TE he has that Gronk look and soft hands and is unstoppable after the catch.

Seniors Close to a major:

  • Jason Rucker – Westview – Too Good not to go big – at least the Big Sky – his performance last week as defining.
  • Anthony Adams–  Newberg- He just picked up Offer #4 from EWU-  He is really a true talent.  We think Pac 12 capable but a force in the Big Sky.
  • Mason Elliott– Westview- Has an Idaho offer.  With a 6’8″ wing span, speed, and great skill there is something wrong with this picture.
  • Nick Ah Sam – Springfield – Totally dominating at QB – a Safety or OLB at the next level – Most Under Recruited player in the State.

Who are the Top QB’s right now?

  • Carson Crawford – #2500YardClub –  2,597 Yards – 1,986 Passing, 611 Rushing,  29 TD’s – PSU OFFER was big story of the week  Player Of The Year Watch
  • Tim Tawa – West Linn – 2,211 Yards Total Offense so far on a perfect season!
  • Andrew James of Hermiston –  2,060 – Kid is only a sophomore and he has proven talent is everywhere-
  • John Bledsoe – Summit High school – 1,775 yards –  having the type of year we expected.  Still growing.  Still getting better.

Tidbits-Offers

  • Skyview’s Skyler Martin lands a Montana Offer and commits joining Hillsboro big man RJ Nelson as two of the best big bodies in the NW headed to Missoula next season!
  • Brandon Pili lands USC offer right after UCLA – his ascent to the top of the 2016 Class continues!

RECRUITING TIPS For October/Novemeber

  1. Get to College games–  Visit schools you can get to on Saturdays.  Call the football offices and set up a recruiting trip.  Every school offers tickets and a recruiting experience on Game Days.  Get to SOU, George Fox, Pacific U, Linfield, EOU, PSU, and WOU for instance.  There is NO better way to get recruited then 1 to 1 interactions
  2. Get your 10 best plays onto a super-highlight-  30 seconds to 2 minutes of non-stop in your face football- This works-  read Up!
  3.  Take the SAT and ACT and have transcripts ready.  If a coach is interested this will be the first thing he wants to know.
  4.  Stay in touch with the influencers –  Know who has the recruiting chops in the space.  Who just Tweets things out and who actually is relied upon and followed.  We are in that group!
