Two months ago on National Letter of Intent Day, 9 Greater St. Helens League football players inked their names, several times, officially choosing a new home for the next 4-5 years.
February, however is not the only time high school football players chose their college of choice. National Letter of Intent Day is just the first day each new class of students can accept scholarships. Once the dust settles from NIL, colleges still need to be hard at work filling out their rosters.
So far, 7 more GSHL players have chosen their 2011 football homes.
Leading the way is Camas WR/DB Brent Hill who has accepted an offer to play football for the Army Knights in West Point New York.
Hill, a 2010 GSHLFootball.com All Level All-Star 1st Team DB, led the Papermakers defense in 2010 with 9 tipped passes helping Camas set the school single season record for fewest points allowed per game at 11.3. He also had 56 tackles, 3 interceptions and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown in their week 9, 24-13 win over Kelso.
