Hayden Craig Gets Grizzly

Hayden Craig Gets Grizzly

Another top recruit from the State of Oregon committed today.  This time it is the big bruiser from Dayton, Oregon; Hayden Craig.  He had a few options and his choice was a solid one.

“I pledged myself to the Montana Grizzlies today. It is 99.9% a done deal,” said Craig.

The only way that could change would be if the Beavers offered.

Hayden went on, “Yes my Mom really wants me to be a Beaver but you know they have had a long time and I think this is the right move for me. They are struggling right now so I would have to rethink things if they do offer me.”

Solid in his choice the now 6’5″, 245 pound Tight End says he is happy. The Montana Grizzlies have the mentality and offense that this guy wants to be a part of and there was something more.

“Johnathan Smith (former OSU Beaver) is their Offensive Coordinator and he and I spoke a lot about leaving home and doing things on my own. He said when he left California and went up to OSU for College it really made the difference for him,” he said. “I see how that could be a good fit for me and the town and the campus is a lot like a smaller version of OSU. I love it there.”

The Grizz are planning to use the big man as a Tight End which was his preference. There are a couple of powerhouse kids in the program now at TE that he feels he could learn from.

“They are recruiting Oregon hard and have been doing that for a few years. So I am excited to be one of the guys from here that can help them win.”
