Huskies Grab Ducks 5 Star QB Commit Colson Yankoff  In 2014 we got to know a tall skinny kid while on a trip up to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho who was entering the legendary Viking program led by our good friend Coach Shawn Amos.  It was easy to see he had a long way to go but it was also easy to see he had some real potential.  Colson Yankoff has lived up to that early promise and then some.  The 6’4″- 205 lb. rocket-man is perhaps the hottest QB in the country.  Yankoff committed to the Ducks last December but the coaching changes and a new offense seem to have scared him off.

Colson is a special athlete and student.  His GPA floats from 4.2 to 4.5 and his physical skills are off the chart.  His 108 SPARQ rating which includes a 39 foot powerball toss and a 39 inch vertical have serious in game implications.  He ran a 4.73 Laser 40 which is fast for a big QB and he recorded a 4.3 shuttle, also fast.  To put his physical skills into perspective his 108 score dwarfs the 84.4 SPARQ rating that Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota recorded while he was in High School. So this kid Yankoff is a catch.

Those are just numbers you say?  Yes they are.  Well here are some more numbers.

Last season Yankoff posted 4,100 yards, 53 TD’s, and did it in just 10 games.  That is a 410 yard average and 5.3 TD’s per game.  No one was even close to that so understandably he is one hot prospect.

Now as a top rated QB you don’t just leave a program like Oregon and walk out into the world looking for options.  Colson Yankoff had 21 offers from the Nation’s best schools.  One spot that he was very high on was the UW and Colson clearly had every reason to turn his attentions towards the Dawgs.  Today he decided it was time to make it official and official changed his pledge from Eugene to Mont Lake.  The Huskies just manned way way up and they are already loaded at the QB spot and have the pledge of 4 Star QB Jacob Sirmon from Bothell High School (WA).

There may well be some additional movement before signing day 2018 and we all have a lot of football to play and enjoy.  But it clearly is #PurpleReign coming down in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho tonight!

Great job Colson and we applaud the fact he is staying in the Pacific NW where we believe our best guys belong for the most part!
