Jared Hilbers Commits To Dawgs

Big breaking news out of the UW.  Monster linemen Jared Hilbers, that we covered first last season, has according to his Facebook Post committed to the UW!  We just picked up on this:

“Proud to say I have verbally committed to play football at the University of Washington! #GoDawgs #BowDown

This kid is a keeper and has a high ceiling.  We saw that develop last season as we watched Beaverton compete in 2 games and Hilbers stood out as a man among boys.  Two days ago we covered him as one of the best of the West in our O-Linemen watch list.  Almost 1,000 of you shared and posted the story (thank you!) and the calls have been coming in.  No doubt a lot of schools were wowed to see this kid as he is massive and long and can move.  His upside obvious as he is just learning the position truly and any good O’line coach sees what they might need in this guy!

Oregon has landed two of the Top Linemen in the Class of 2015 who are from Washington in Calvin Throckmartin and Shane Lemieux.  The Huskies are getting a good one right here as the big schools from both states continue to battle to get the best of the best.  Hilbers is a big get for the Dawgs who landed Jesuit star linemen Andrew Kirkland two years ago out of the same league on Portland’s Westside; the Metro League!
