Jason Rucker One The Verge Of D1

Jason Rucker One The Verge Of D1

Jason Rucker is one of the most talented 2 way football players in the Pacific NW.  This was his big break out year at Portland’s Westview HS although the 6’2″-190 lb. DB and Athlete was a well-known recruit his Junior Year.  The Senior campaign was special!

Jason Rucker 550

Rucker had 4 Interceptions and 66 Tackles on defense and was used both ways playing almost every down this season.  He totaled 1600 yards and had 11 TD’s on offense with no fumbles and a 7.5 average yard carry.  Impressive stats indeed.

He has the proto-type size and skill set.  He is fast- one could say quick.  No doubt Jason is a physical kid and has a great football family.  Older brother Julius is an All American Safety and will get a shot at the League.  Younger brother Jaquay is a rising defensive end at Westview and their father has coached for the Cats for years.  This family defines the best in high school football.  They care about people and are the sort of folks you want on your side; high-caliber high character team players.

Jason has 8 offers and some solid choices. But that first D1 offer is still out there.  It may come from PSU where he makes a great potential fit.  Others are close.

 Offers to date:

•Central Washington University• •Western Oregon University• •Southern Oregon University• •Kentucky Christian University• •Rocky Mountain College• •LindenWood University• •Montana State University-Northern• •Hastings College•

We asked Jason who else might be out there close to making him an offer and what stood out to him from his Senior season?

“I am hearing from NAU, PSU, Weber State, Montana, Montana State, EWU, and Oregon State the most and pretty consistently.  This was my breakout season. No one expected me to do what I did.  I only started on offense for 4-5 games and still had 1,539 all-purpose yards. What stood out to me the most was my teams accomplishments. No one expected us to be as good as we were. And what I’m happy about is my outcome of my all league earnings and my stats.”

Is there a better prospect in the Region without a D1 offer?  Maybe but it is tough to top this guy.  Jason Rucker we feel is worthy of Big Sky level offers and will be able to land one in the next month.  The question is will he end up in State or out?  Coaches here is the film for one fast mover and if you give it 2 minutes you will see all aspects of his play.  Pretty great stuff for sure.  You can find Jason Rucker on our All NW Top 300 Prospect watch list.
