Joshua Watson of Cascade High School had a solid Junior Year. Then came his showing at our NW Stars Camp in February. At this event he made his presence known early in the recruiting process for 2015 and his name leapt up our lists and others. Designed for Seniors needing a post signing day hook-up for college the NW Stars Camp welcomed underclassmen and Joshua was one of them.
“Who is that kid?” was a question several colleges in attendance asked us. What he showed was a lean and yet massive frame well honed form hours in a weight room and the ability to bend and move with the best. The course was set for him to gain attention and several media outlets picked him up and pushed him ahead.
This event coupled with great Junior year film generated offers and increased interest and recently a WSU offer. Having fallen in Love with Pullman, Washington and wanting to stay in State but not in Seattle after college he made his verbal pledge. Watson’s rise and offers are a perfect example of the plane we preach – 1) Grades 2) Train hard and become a great athlete 3) Work at your position and be a technician 4) Get in front of college coaches whenever possible 5) Compete every down.
Joshua did all those things and is now going to be a Cougar, and we think a damn good one, after High School is over. Here is Joshua Watson live from the RDAF Football Camp.
