Justin Outslay Breaks Out With First Offer

One of the best linemen in the Pacific Northwest this season is Justin Outslay of Salem Academy. That was confirmed tonight as PSU offered him a chance to play on scholarship for the Vikings next season.

Justin Outslay Breaks Out With First Offer

It took him a while and he had to be patient.  But Salem Academy stud Justin Outslay finally got the phone call he has been hoping for all year.  The 6'5"-280 pound Linemen has received his first D-1 Scholarship offer and it came in form none other then the PSU Vikings.

Outslay has been on our Best of The Rest top prospects list since we spent time with him this past Summer at Stan Brock's Trench Camp.  While there we saw Outslay take on all comers for 3 days in pads and really stand out as one of the best of the best.

"This is exciting.  Really big for me to get this offer.  Overall it has been a really great day," offered the big linemen.  "I have been waiting for the Vikings to offer and it happened today right before the playoffs get going."

He was really happy and discussed the events as they unfolded.

"Well the PSU Coaches called my Coach and went over some things.  Then I was asked to give them a call and I did.  Coach Brad Davis (O-Line) and Coach Burton spoke to my Dad first and then I had a chance to speak to them.  They basically let me know that I had an offer to play line for them and that they wanted me to give it some serious thought and then let them know as as soon as I can," he added.  "So I have some decisions to make."

Outslay along with Bryon Bodon and Austin Powell of Crescent Valley have offers from PSU.  They have also offered Chad "Texas" Bach from Mountain View in Bend as well as some other Top linemen from Oregon and Washington.

Will be commit and make his verbal pledge?  He will know pretty soon as he said the Vikings have pressed him for an answer.  Something that will come soon after he visits the Vikings at Jeld Wen Field Saturday.

Justin is an excellent student and given his size has attracted attention from schools all over the West.  He has the skill and ability to play with the best of them and is clearly off the radar still playing at a smaller school like Salem Academy.  Still he has done enough to be considered with a top hand full of linemen in the Region.

"We have playoffs Friday and will be hopefully moving on.  So this is amazing and I am thinking alot about this but have to maintain focus on school and the team too.  But right now I could not be happier!"

Awesome for this kid to see he is getting his shot.  The Vikings are doing an excellent job of recruiting and holding true to their promise to be the most aggressive FCS School up and down I-5 as far as trying to capture as many top NW Recruits as they can!

OregonPreps.com congratulates Justin Outslay, his family, and his school tonight!
