We don’t care what anyone back East says. Our man Keivarae Russell can hang with the best of the best. The student-athlete star running back added his 16th offer today and things are heating up. He has been slighted so far far by the UA All American Staff in favor of East Coast backs but he has been nominated by the Army All American Game and has a shot to play there. But does he care?
“No it’s all good. I realize it is tough being a back from Washington. All I can do is work on me and focus on school and getting ready,” said an upbeat Russell.
It is the case that running backs from the Pacific Northwest are not taken as serious National contenders. But guys like Russell are making believers out of coaches and analysts everywhere. After super freak Colt Lyerla came out of Hillsboro, Oregon last year and shined in the Army Game more analysts started looking here.
Enter Mariner High School’s Russell for this years class and Aloha, Oregon’s Thomas Tyner(fastest kid in the country at 10.35 100M) for next years class at the RB spot and you have a trend beginning.
Tyner is expected to be a Top 10 prospect and has as many as 20 verbal offers. He is a 10th grader.
Russell has had a more gradual rise to elite status widely based on his insane highlight film he released just 2 or 3 months back.
He has added 16 offers now to his dance card with the latest development being and offer from Purdue.
