When you look up the name Kendall Rew on the internet you will not find a lot of information. There is his Hudl film, a link to his Facebook, and a story we wrote about him at Northwest Prep Report. The 6’5″- 275 lb grinding linemen from Ferris High School in Spokane, Washington coming into this season as an “Off the Radar” guy. Like a lot of big High School Linemen Kendall had good skill and was big but for whatever reasons was not stealing headlines. No “Hype” if you will for this kid. And that is no problem now.

Kendall Rew is committed to Azusa Pacific University where he was awarded almost $100,00 dollars worth of scholarship money for football should he stay the 4 year under-grad period. Keith Currie Pic!
Kendall impressed the heck out of us at the Northwest Elite Football Camp run by Coaches Cole Morgan and Eddie Behringer at Mercer Island HS last June. He was pushed around by some D-1 Stars with offers and stood his ground dishing out a blow for everyone he got. His inner light shined for us and that warrior spirit so crucial in top linemen was revealed.
Following the camp we began a series of conversations with Kendall and did some follow ups including him in our mailers and lists. He asked questions and we answered impartially and consistently as we always do. We stressed we wanted and needed film to see if that Warrior we saw out of pads showed up in pads. On 9-21-13 after 3 games Kendall and his Dad took his film and sent it off. His message went like this:

How does it look?
Dirk Knudsenjust sat down…been out all day but let me have a look Kendall.
Dirk KnudsenIts very solid! Good tackles and Good finishes on blocks. Just the right length and speed too- very solid stuff man! I will run with this during week in our sites. Great job!
Kendall RewI sent it to 30 schools! Thanks man!
Dirk KnudsenThis is all part of the plan. Make sure get to some school visits- I would get to EWU, CWU, Idaho and Idaho State for example on Saturdays
Dirk Knudsenyou listened- keep working hard!
Yeah thank you I appreciate everything! I feel like I owe you a lot!Now for the rest of the story. Kendall got better and better all season. He played faster and more aggressive and more confident. But still the media and Football industry did not pick up his story. He worked and worked and continued to connect with the schools he sent the films and his info too. And that is when the magic happened. Kendall received a call from a few schools. One in particular was Azusa Pacific University in California. Kendall followed up and without a lot of bigger options he headed South to see the school and meet the coaches this past week. The result was a total success!

This was all part of the plan wasn’t it.What is the best thing about this fit for you? Kendall RewThank you Dirk! Azusa Pacific is terrific– the campus its so nice and the football program has great unity with players and coaches.
Ok so here it is again folks. Hard work in school. Hard work on the field. FILM! Connecting with Coaches and you can do it yourself. You have to be talented and play hard and produce the goods like Kendall did. But the fact is he did it. The education is a well known degree and a quality program. Follow Kendall’s path and you and your athletes can make it too. His future for the next 4 years is a bright one and he knows we will always be watching to see how far he can rise. It can be a very long way indeed! We congratulate Kendall and his family and are so happy to have had the chance to cover and help tell the story of this very fine Eastern Washington recruit!
