Kyle Kempt’s Move From Aloha Works- Now He Waits

For the real football insiders here is one for you.  Remember hearing about this kid from Aloha who landed an offer from Jim Harbaugh as a Freshmen to be their QB?   We covered that a couple years back.  The kid was Aloha HS Frosh Kyle Kempt.

The former Westview HS youth star had moved to Aloha and melded into the 2013 class quite well.  With Tyner and Kearsley and Kluge and company at Aloha all a part of that Class Kempt looked to be the perfect leader for this Warrior Squad that made all the moves to help the Aloha community change their lot.

By 10th grade that same group had won a Championship and the Warriors have not looked back.  Unfortunately  Kempt was not able to be a apart of the success at Aloha as his family had to move for work to Ohio.

They Kempt's landed at Massillon High School.  A team that was ranked #1 in the Nation a few times over the years and that is legendary in scope.  The great Paul Brown played at Massillon and Coached there.

The Tigers are the second winningest team in US History second only to Valdosta HS of Valdosta, Georgia. They have been crowned US National Champions 9 Times by the Associated Press and have won 22 State Championships.  Every boy born in the Massilon District is given a football at birth.  The team features a live Tiger as their mascot.  This folks is a program that has been winning since 1894.

Some felt the displaced Oregonian would not make it there in a place like that.   If you were one of them you would be wrong.

Kyle grew and grew and played his Senior Year at 6'5".  He led his team the past two years and this year he threw for 3,100 yards and 32 Touch Downs to become the all time passing leader in Masillon History.  And along the way he showcased a skill set that was second to none.

Kyle Kempt had quite a run while at legendary Massilon of Ohio.

His offer he was hoping for came from Cincinnati.  And that was perfect for Kyle.  That was to say until the Bear Cats Head Coach Butch Jones left and took the Tennessee job the last couple of days.

Jones was a hot commodity.  And his leaving now has Tommy Tuberville in the Cincinnati job.  And who knows what will happen there.  They are both great coaches.  But Kempt is in a precarious position for a while now.

Jones has to land and get situated for the Vols.  The word is he wants Kempt to come out.  But he will also have to look at the reality of taking over a program late in the recruiting Cycle and see where things go from there.

So Kyle Kempt like a lot of kids finds himself in the place of insecurity for a little while.  But there is not much chance a kid this talented will not land on his feet.

Watch his film here and your going to see a kid with a Cannon and great accuracy.  Just imagine what would have happened if he had stayed in Oregon.  Wow that would have been fun to watch for sure!

Best wishes to Kyle and his family who meant so much to Oregon football while they were living here.
