NW Prep Football Well Represented At Rivals Camp This Weekend

A Sunday night note on how the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour  went this weekend.  We made sure several of our best athletes were invited to this camp. one that many insiders believe to be the premier National camp of it’s kind.  The Performance Camps are invite only and athletes in attendance generally have to have a major D-1 offer or be a National Recruit to get in.  While we are still waiting for some reports from California we do know that some of the best of the NW made it and did well.

Harley Kirsch (2016 QB-Right) of Eastside Catholic and Jackson Keimig (2015 Bothell Athlete) are both among Washington's very best athletes and both of them made the trip South for the big camp!

“I thought it went good! As far as competition, some of the best I’ve seen so far,” said Jackson Keimig feeling more confident about his ability and where he fits in the future after seeing the best the West had to offer.

Jackson knows what he needs to work on and said he did well but has a good sense of areas he can improve.

For Kirsch who has an offer already from Wyoming he was happy!

“Thought the coaching was good and had a great time too.”

Bellevue HS Defensive End Ryan Bowman (2016) had a good day and is seen here with 40 year veteran NFL Coach Rex Norris who worked the camp.

“It was awesome Dirk!  Thanks for the opportunity,” offered Bowman by FB Messenger.  “The competition was terrific…I did pretty well overall.”

Nolan Henry made it there too, the Union High School QB (Vancouver, Washington), and had another solid showing.  He is looking toward his 4th year as a starter for the Titans and is no doubt one of the most complete QB’s in the NW Class of 2015.

And then there was Thomas Toki – Formerly of Juanita HS who took #4 overall at the Defensive Top Performers.  Toki has moved to California for his Senior year where he will dominate for St Francis High School.  “Tok” as we all call him has a handful of Pac 12 offers and is something special.

Joining him at #5 overall is Eastside Catholic Junior 6’3″- 260 lbs Defensive End Cody Baker.  The big fast mover has a Wyoming offer and moved up to a 3 Star rating in the stingy Rivals rating system which is big.

“Baker is built like a true defensive end and more importantly he plays like one. Not only is he fast off the ball, but after losing a rep in one-on-ones, he accepted coaching well and came back with strong counter moves to win the following rep. He only has one early offer from Wyoming, but expect his list to grow in the coming weeks once he gets a chance to shine.” – See more at: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1615668#sthash.lSLvnnFJ.dpuf

Cody Baker placed very high in the Camp and raised his stock considerably!

His camp appearance was perfectly timed and his stock will rise after a day like that.  He should be well on his way to a lot of interest and camp opportunities from interested schools.  Great job Cody!

The National Media at these events is thick and all the boys went looking to get a benchmark at where they stand with the best.  They accomplished that and it is always a very important thing to have our kids represent our Region on a big stage like that.  if your travelling around the US and want a shot at the Rivals Performance Camp sponsored by Under Armour get a hold of Dirk at 503-799-8383 and he will make a recommendation for you!
