More Updates From San Antonio- Junior’s Report

We brought you up to date on the US Army All American Game and the US Army All American Combine. Our NW Seniors and Juniors were getting it done at both events and all of them have reported the experience was amazing and just the most fun. They all also talked a lot about the fact that the journey and the experiences and people they met were the best part. That has stood out with every kid we spoke too.

Football Moms 980We brought you up to date on the US Army All American Game and the US Army All American Combine.  Our NW Seniors and Juniors were getting it done at both events and all of them have reported the experience was amazing and just the most fun.  They all also talked a lot about the fact that the journey and the experiences and people they met were the best part.  That has stood out with every kid we spoke too.

We Ran this Story On Kids From Oregon, Idaho and Hawaii.

And here you can see the story on Washington’s Kids who made it down!

We are getting through all of the guys we covered that made the trip and will be submitting these stories and the next few days roll by.  Tonight we caught up with some of them and here is their report:

Jordan Morgan- Southridge HS had a great showing in San Antonio!

Jordan Morgan- Southridge HS had a great showing in San Antonio!

Jordan Morgan – Southridge High School   Beaverton, Oregon  2014 Wide Receiver

6’2″- 196 Pounds-  Top Rated WR

Morgan had a great trip we spoke at length about what he saw and how things went.  His Combine numbers were solid with a 34″ vertical leap, a 4.7 9 Laser 40 (4.46 hand time) and a 4.15 shuttle.  For a near 200 pound WR that is blazingly fast.

How were the 1-1’s against the Nation’s best Junior DB’s and Safeties?

“I scored on every rep except one.    That one was under thrown,” said Morgan.  “I am very happy with how I did!”

Now he knows he can get faster.  And that is something he is going to be training for in the off season.

“We had a great trip.  Got to bond with some great kids and make new friends too,” he added saying that he loved hanging out with Asan Neil-Evergin of Timberline HS (Lacey, WA.) and Isaiah Brandt Sims of Wenatchee High.

The three of them were escorted by their Mothers to the event and the ladies had a chance to bond and enjoy football too.  They all shared notes and just really enjoyrd the chance to be with their sons.  This is an era where more and more Moms are stepping it up and getting into their kids recruitment.  And that is terrific because these boys have a lot of people and a lot of influences coming at them.  And there is no one like a football Mom for sorting out the good and the bad of it all.  Seriously we loved what these gals did for the boys!

Now Morgan is hearing from some schools.  All of the analysts have him as a Top 10n recruit for the Northwest in 2014.  And he knows he is getting some looks.  But he is driven to be the best!

“Oregon, Oregon State, and University of Washington are my 3 schools of choice,” said Jordan with determination.  “I am dedicated to this every day from now until I get there.”

Watch him folks.  He believes and he will make it.

 Timberline High School (WA)

 5’9″- 170 pounds RB/DB

Asan had a really great trip!  The kid was wowed by what he saw.  At the same time he felt he was in the top tier of the guys there.  Maybe that is a good sign for him.

“I was there and I kept thinking during the 1-1 battles that the guys were not as dominating as I thought they would be.  And I won a lot of reps,” he said.  “It is hard to explain.  You know I felt like I was pretty good there.  But there is still so much more work to do.”

What was happening there was that Asan is beginning to internalize that his gifts are substantial.  Like Morgan he is one of the best in the Region.  And last year at the Nike Football Training Camp in Oregon he took a step in that direction by getting the MVP for the camp over many known entities.

“My 40 was not that fast and I know I can get better.  I will be working on that.  Overall my testing was good though. ”

He loved being with Elon Mack of Heritage HS in Vancouver, Washington,; a tall speedy receiver with great hands.  Also his time spent with Morgan and Isaiah Brandt-Sims he says was terrific.  Bonding and watching the All American game was pretty cool too.  having his Mom there was special as she is someone he says he could not get through things without.

“I met Max Browne, Thomas Tyner, and Eddie Vanderdoes Junior.  Those guys were all amazing and it really was great seeing them play.  Makes you want to work even harder to get to the game too!”

A driven kid with incredible talents.  Catch his film here.

Devante Downs- Mountlake Terrace High School (WA)

6’2.5″-228 Pounds RB – ATH

So big.  So fast.  So skilled.

That is why he is a leading prospect for 2014.  Devante has 4 offers and is just now starting to heat up!  The Rivals.com Staff had him covered and did film and personal interviews and all.

The kid has the full compliment of skills and everything any team could want.  His film from his 2012 campaign will have Coaches licking their chops.  He is that good.  Not just a Red Zone pounder.  Oh gosh no!  Downs can make moves and rack up yards.

From the very start his highlights show a 90 yard TD run and they do not stop from then on.  These are special.  Truly!  Watch Devante Downs Film Here!  So how was his trip?

“It was all business for me.  I went down there to do my best and show what I could do and I did great.  I dominated in the 1-1’s.  My testing numbers were good.  They will get better though,” said Downs.  “Overall this a very good trip for me!”

Well said.  His offers from Utah, Washington, Arizona State, and Coloroado State have him looking good.   But this guy has goals as well.

“Notre Dame, Stanford, and Alabama are all schools I like a lot.  And Michigan is in constant contact.  Right now I am so happy to have the offers I have but rally want to look at all my options,” he said.

And that is the perfect way to play this one out.  Great job from a kid who we feel will have not less then 15 offers before he has to commit.  A big back like that is a natural at Linebacker as well.  So he is a no lose situation for any top college.  Good student too!
