It was only a matter of time before Kimani Quade landed his first offer. Last season as a Sophomore he was the #1 defensive back in the West with 13 Interceptions. Not bad for a 10th grader playing on one of Oregon’s best 6A schools down in Eugene, Sheldon High School.
Quade was 5’8″ and 150 lbs last year. Fresh off his performance at Team USA Football Summer Events he is bigger, faster, and stronger and his efforts there landed him an offer from the Howard Bisons! That is his first offer!
“Well Summer has been great I’ve just been focused on getting bigger and this offer happened for me and it came from playing for this coach at team USA 2 years ago,” said Kimani. “Right now my High School Coach has me at FS, Corner, RB and Slot. ”
He has been busy at college camps as well.
“The camps have been great and UCLA sent me a camp invite, Washington has too. Recently Boise State and Oregon State have had coaches start to follow me as well.”
Quade is a truly terrific athlete. Now he is adding some helpful size and has hit 5’9″ and 165 lbs. His strength numbers are way up and he reports doing bench reps with 225 lbs. His squat is at 340 lbs and his 40-yard time is now at a blazing 4.49.
The Irish have a loaded bunch coming back this season and have added a powerhouse QB transfer in Michael Johnson Jr. The 6’3″ 185 lb. sophomore has 30 plus offers and is rated #1 QB in the Class of 2019. He and Quade will no doubt tear up the fields in the next 2 years.
Check out Kimani Quade’s film from 2016 and we will continue to report on his offers and progress.
