On Sunday the Portland State Vikings are hosting a Junior Day recruiting event which will end with the Portland State Spring Football Game. You want to be at these events if your a recruit and want a chance to play college football. The Vikings and their Coaching staff do a superb job at these events and they offer a full campus tour and an overview of what playing for the Vikings would and could be like. In fact if you are a parent or a coach of a kid and believe they can play college football get them to this event.
Kids are always shocked to see what it really takes to make it and how big and gifted the athletes are. This is a Division 1 level program and the skill of the players is at the top tier. Many high school athletes and for sure parents have no real idea of how it all works and the level of talent at a place like PSU. Get there- this is your chance and our #1 rule of recruiting is meeting the coaches comes first. Coaches are not recruiting guys they do not get to know- at least not very often. Get there and enjoy the events and the game and help your future!
Dirk’s Rule #1 to Winning the Recruiting Game: Get in front of Coaches in pads and out of pads- Press the Flesh – Give Love to Get Love!
