It was a whole lot of fun seeing the PSU Vikings roll into McKenzie Stadium at Evergreen High School and hold their Spring Scrimmage. Arranged by new Plainsmen Head Coach Don Johnson and Vikings Head Coach Nigel Burton the event was aimed at the Vikings bringing their brand of Big Sky Division 1 Football to Clark County and showcase the 2013 team that is shaping up quite nicely.
The Scrimmage was preceded by a 90 Minute Youth Camp at the Stadium where many of the areas youth kids came out and were coached up by the Vikings current players. A great thing to see happen in the community and public service no doubt. The game was filled with highlights and a lot of fun to watch.
Even more fun for us was catching all the recruits that made it out to the Game which followed an all day event at Portland State for the recruits and their parents to get to know more about the school and the program. There were a lot of talented guys in the crowd and we caught up to quite a few of them to see how things were going. Here are a few snapshots of the guys we ran into.

Conner Baumann (a 6’2″ – 220 lb Linebacker and Rb) of Newport High School was in the house as was Shay Dingfelder of Issaquah HS; a 6’2″- 295 lb monster linemen.

Drew Springfield of Eastside Catholic is getting closer to his first offer it seems and the massive O-linemen (6’3″- 290 lbs) had a great time and seemed to leave an impression!

Dylan Donohue of Lakewood HS is a top D-line prospect at 6’1″- 280 lbs and is a monster on the field. He looked ready to play.

Gig Harbor had a nice contingent of kids in the house and Reese Carlson was one of them. A 6’4″ 200 lb Wide receiver. He loved what he saw.

Mason Johnson is a top line prospect from Kentlake High and would be a great fit at PSU. 6’3″- 300 lb bruiser right here with mad talent!

The Sheldon Irish were very well represented. MItch Herbert a 6’4″ WR / Ath was offered at the event by PSU and his team mate Liam Talty at 6’4″-230 lbs (OLB-DE) might be next! Great to see these 2 State Champs at the event!

Top recruits from Olympia in the house included from left to right: Mitch Fettig (Olympia), and from Tumwater Jayden Croft (QB) , Nick Foerstel, Gabe Gleizes, and Christian Cummings.

One of the most complete two way athletes available this season is big Isaiah Hall of Horizon Christian. A 6’4″- 230 lb TE/DE – he is ready to play his way into a scholarship and we love his skill.
