Tonight an update from Portland, Oregon where the PSU Vikings had a recruiting event and a scrimmage today. It was a very successful event and for the NWPR staff it was like old home week with so many athletes from Oregon and Washington lining the PSU sidelines; all kids we covered these past few seasons. Highlighting that bunch was phenom running back Steven Long from Lake Oswego who will be looking to be a featured back for the Vikings this season. He made some big time plays and showed the entire myriad of skills that made him a household name at Sherwood and Lake Oswego High Schools where he helped lead both teams to State Championships.
Sam McPherson is gifted with top tier agility, speed, and Football Skills. He has offers from Columbia, Air Force Academy, and now Portland State University.
Along the sidelines we conversed with some of our favorite High School Coaches who were invited to come and attend the scrimmage and a BBQ hosted by Vikings Head Coach Nigel Burton and his staff. We also ran into some top recruits who were in for the event looking to land an offer. One of the top 2 way players in the State of Washington did just that.
