Skyline Linemen Riley Griffiths Lands MSU Offer

Another NW high school football recruit has landed an option for a home after graduation.  Today it is Riley Griffiths who we have covered earlier in the year.  The 6’3″- 245 yard defensive end had a great season at Skyline High School and worked hard to make every down count while out there for the Spartans.

Last night he contacted us to let us know that Montana State had offered him a scholarship to play for them next season.

Montana State has Offered High School prospect Riley Griffiths!

Riley Griffiths of Skyline High School in Washington has landed his first football offer.

“Just got my first offer tonight,” said Griffiths.  “Montana State!”

We know how hard he has worked, like most kids trying to make it, so we asked him how it felt.

“It felt great, it feels great to know that my hard work paid off! Thank you for all the help during this process,” he offered.

He was early to grab some help from PremierProspect.com and get his name out with schools.  His profile was sent all over the place to coaches as a one-stop recruiting tool  and MSU recruiter Cody Kempt happened to be from our home High School in Portland so that helped a bit.  Bottom line is the Bobcats feel his upside will make him a good defensive option for them in the years ahead.

MSU has a really good film school and Riley wants to study film production which will add to his already substantial resume as an actor (Super 8). He says that is a factor as he goes ahead but that he is not quite done with the process yet.

“There are some other schools talking to me so I might wait for a little while to see if they will come through with options,” he added clearly happy to have this first offer in hand.

He had moved to Skyline the last year or so of High School and dug in for the team.  We wondered how his time in the program went in terms of the experience.

“Thank you and Skyline and the classes above me taught me that nothing is gained with out hard work, and I made life long friends in the process.  Although we didn’t make it as far as I think we should have I have no regrets and I think that I had a solid senior season!”

Solid indeed.  He earned this option for college with grades and grit and we expect to see more from him in the future wherever he ends up!

Congrats to Riley Griffiths on this great offer.
