One young gun we have watched just rise a ton this off season is Skyview Storm QB and 2015 prospect Zac Shomler. Through his work with his team and Coach John Charles of Air One Football Academy Zac has transformed himself into one of the most accurate passers we have seen this year. The 5’11”- 175 lb. phenom is now throwing every pass a college coach could want and doing it very well. He is very much like Willy Pflug of Sunset High School in Beaverton, Oregon in terms of his size and attributes.
Shomler, like Pflug, was at the Elite 11 camp this off season and we saw Trent Dilfer (QB GURU) giving him a lot of 1-1 time; something Dilfer reserves for kids who he deems at the top. Zac had an excellent 2013 season and 2014 appears to be his year to prove himself to be the Collegiate level player coaches are looking for. We believe he is one of the lesser known guys who will grab a spot and gain offers as the season goes along. Have a look at the playmakers skills here and also look at that GPA- 3.95 folks! Way to go Zac!

ON: Is there any recent news on the Collegiate front? Have you been contacted by any schools via phone, em,ail, mail, text, or Facebook etc?
PSU’s offensive coordination Bruce Barnum has emailed me, I had a great day at their camp and his son Brody Barnum is my backup QB.Central Washington’s Nick Whitworth invited me up to Ellensburg for Senior day and I asked and am bringing Marcus Lord, Nick Bateman, Parker Baker, Bryson Enge, and Kyle Oman with me on that trip!
ON: How is the Season Going so far for you and the Team?
I love my team, its great to be with guys who want to win. We are working to win! We are becoming a very cohesive group and we fight for each other. I am very happy to be a part of the 2014 Skyview Storm!
What Position(s) are you playing this season?
Quarterback | |
ON: Are you happy with your progress?
I know the game, my strength is my ability to read defenses. John Charles from Air One Football has really helped me improve my footwork and mechanics. Brad Packer from APX strength training has helped me get much faster, build my overall athleticism, and taught me about nutrition and made me stronger!I am looking for my first scholarship offer.
God has helped me tremendously along the way. I really want to play college football I just need one although hopefully on turns into two and so on… |
|
On: What is your favorite part of the Football season?
Winning. I love my team and Skyview has many great traditions. Tradition never graduates.
In a year from now what do you want to look back on and remember about this season that is just ahead?
That we did everything we could to prepare for the season. Our team believes we have the best coaching staff in Washington lead by Coach Steve Kizer and they deserve to win.
Name some guys who you have been impressed with on your team? Any surprises or young guys standing out?
Mike Haines 2015 has really stepped up at centerHayden Froeber 2017 made tons of plays at OSU camp busting off 40 yard runs against Eastside Catholic
Jimmy Rowe, Marquis Mitchel, and Devon Johnston all 2016 lineman stepping up and want to win Cameron Sissel a 2015 WR really stepping up and making plays Parker Baker 2015 6’6″ DE Marcus Lord 2015 6’5″ WR big play maker Bryson Enge 2015 WR moved from Mountain vVew , he is a stud athlete and we are glad to have him Blake Ingram 2016 LB works his tail off and wants to prove himself Kyle Oman 2015 LB passionate and we are glad to have him as a great leader and he has a huge heart Nike Bateman 2015 OL/DL stepping up as a leader and wants to win Drue Jordan 2015 returning starting safety stepping up as a leader among the DBs. I am glad I don’t have to play against him on Friday nights! I am sure there are many more as I have great teammates |
|
ON: Why should a college recruit you when there are so many kids out there? What sets you apart?
I know the game. I am a great leader. I elevate the players around me. I lead throwing and 7on7s because our coaches cant work with us in the offseason. As a quarterback its my job to improve my teammates! if I want to win I need to hold events and create an atmosphere where growth can happen. If we don’t win because someone wasn’t ready its on me because I didn’t do enough to prepare them.I combat nervousness with preparation; no reason to be nervous if you did the work to prepare to win.
I work my butt off to be ready for the season. I don’t want to lose because I wasn’t ready. I have been called short in my life and that means I have to work twice as hard as guys who are 6’5″ to make up for it! I am also a good role model I care about my teammates – I have a 3.95 GPA |
