We think Landon Floyd is one of the finest strong safeties in High School football and also a top tier running back. We caught up to Landon in the 2 Minute Drill and he broke it down for us – his future lies just beyond the High School stadium lights and he knows it.

Tigard Loaded With Talent – Landon Floyd Break Down

You know the season is at hand.  In Oregon this week will wrap up pre-season preparations and some teams will head to jamborees under the new OSAA Rules that prohibit what has become known as Zero week.    One team that will contend for the title in the 6A Division is the Tigard Tigers.  They were all ready projected to be a top team and a scad of transfers has people in the know talking State Title possibilities.

Landon Floyd has been working like no other and is dedicated. This folks is a student athlete to watch!

One young man who is not a transfer who will power up the boys of Green and White is Landon Floyd.  The last two seasons we all watched as this lanky fast kid made plays all over the field.  His raw talent stood out and mentions of him came up in our work and other sites as a top tier prospect.  9 months have past since the Tigers ended their season after a deep play off run and Floyd is bigger, faster, and stronger.  He is playing with purpose and a clear vision of the path he is on.

We think Landon Floyd is one of the finest strong safeties in High School football and also a top tier running back.  We caught up to Landon in the 2 Minute Drill and he broke it down for us – his future lies just beyond the High School stadium lights and he knows it.  We are excited to watch what this young man brings this year and expect great things no doubt.

ON: Is there any recent news on the Collegiate front? Have you been contacted by any schools via phone, em,ail, mail, text, or Facebook etc?
I’ve been talking with Montana, EWU, PSU and Wyoming , but Wyoming and Montana the most. I have been receiving mail from Washington State, Mizzou and Montana.
ON: How is the Season Going so far for you and the Team?
The season is going great. Got a lot of new transfers that are really helping to mold our offense and defense to make it strong.
What Position(s) are you playing this season?
I’m playing RB, SS and OLB.
ON: Are you happy with your progress?
I’m happy with my progress. I’ve evolved into a lot stronger and bigger player and have become such a better offensive player. My vision from the backfield has improved tremendously seeing blocks and cutbacks down the field.
On: What is your favorite part of the Football season?
Friday nights. I love the fact that I get a chance to glorify God with the talent he blessed me with and also play side by side with my bestfriends.
In a year from now what do you want to look back on and remember about this season that is just ahead?
A championship win would be a great thing to look back on and be happy about .
Name some guys who you have been impressed with on your team? Any surprises or young guys standing out?
Sam Inos just flat out plays the game smart and makes plays on both sides of the ball. Ryan Bay and Nikko Thomas have become better players and won’t be surprised when schools come there way. Mikey Casugay one of our junior cornerbacks has become more familiar with the position and has become a smarter player so watch out for him.
ON: Why should a college recruit you when there are so many kids out there? What sets you apart?
My work ethic and the fact that I stay away from the bad crowd. I would do everything in my power to make the team better and to also not be a nuisance or a problem to the team.
