The Portland State Vikings have struck again. And this seems to be one of the very biggest commitments their amazing year of recruiting Pacific Northwest kids.
Tonight we spoke to 6’3″ 235 pounds power house defensive end Tyrone Holmes of Eagle Point. The Senior was a Co-Defensive Player of the year in his league and in terms of guys who are available still he is a special kid.
Holmes is one of fastest High Hurdlers in the region showcasing his explosive skill and he is the real deal. In several camps and combines he was in a word unstoppable.
“It was just a great fit. I had offers from Idaho and an early offer from WSU that seems to be gone. Other schools were calling and I have other options but looking at the staff and the other top guys from around Oregon that are going to be Vikings I decided it was time,” said Holmes who called up to let the Viks staff know today.
And football will be a part of this move but school is too. He is loving his options at Portland State as the marketing program there is one of the region.
“The classes and the degree program will be a great fit. And being a lot closer to home is going to be nice too,” he added.
He is indeed a big time recruit for the Big Sky Viks and he joins top players like Jamarr Graves, Nicholas Rothstein, Dalton Milburn, Steven Long, Paris Penn and a host of other top recruits from Oregon who are paving a recruit super highway to the Park Blocks.
Jeld Wen stadium was again a big reason for this decision and the Vikings facility is a magnet for athletes who see that as a really nice place to play collegiate football.
