It’s official. We have a Heisman winner here in the NW. Marcus Mariota? No not yet. Today QB phenom Nolan Henry won the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.
“Just won the Wendy’s High School Heisman! Could not be here without the support of so many people. Love you all,” Henry posted on Twitter.
The Wendy’s award recognizes a student’s athletic accomplishments as well as celebrates the person’s academic achievements and community leadership. Nolan is the best of us and he inspires without trying but through his actions. He acts not from a place of self adulation or gratification but form a place of humbleness and gratefulness in all he has been blessed with. It is his need to serve and give back that in fact power his appeal and his strength. This is an American son we can all aspire to be more like. He gets a little award and his school $10,000 but moreover people he has elevated the NW Brand of high school athletes and this accomplishment will echo forever and ever.
The rest of you athletes take note and salute this guy because he took you all with him on this trip and this journey and we are all the better for it.
