Kaleb McGary Lands USC Football Offer

The mighty Trojans of Troy- The USC Trojans that is are not as mighty as they once were. The mighty Trojans of Troy-  The USC Trojans that is are not as mighty as they once were.  But that does not mean that the mighty recruiting sword being wielded by Land Kiffen is not able to cut a deep path into the Nation's top recruits plans.  Today they took a swing at landing Fife High School's massive Tight end Kaleb McGary.

The question is can they still expect to pull kids of that caliber away from the likes of Oregon and Washington?

"It still means a heck of a lot.  Are they the same team they were a few years ago?  No not right now.  But come on," said McGary.  "This is USC we are talking about."

The 6'8.5" Rivals 4 Star is one of the premier Tackles in the Country this year and up unitl this point has been used as a Tight End and a Defensive End.  But that power and agression in those long arms and that 275 lb hooper frame is bound to end up on the edge of the O'Line.

"My Coach ran into me in the halls and handed me a number for USC football and said I needed to call.  So I did.  I got Coach Kiffen's voice message so I left my info.  It took a couple calls back and forth but I finally spoke to him late in the day and you know it was really nice.  He quickly told me that I had an offer, that they loved my size and aggressiveness, and that they wanted me to be a Trojan."

So McGary is considering the Trojans and says he still has to consider this a top school in a group of schools he likes out of 14 who have offered.  All of them great programs.  So who couild be next?

"Well I get a lot of mail and calls and all that.  Michigan and Notre Dame are two that sure seem interested.  There are quite a lot more too.  I have been so busy hooping right now I just need to get my schedule down," added Kaleb.

He is going to attend the NW Elite Football Camp at Mercer Island, the Nike NFTC in Eugene, and the OSU one day camp as well as the UW rising stars camp.  But he is not a camp junkie and has not shwocased in front of bigger audiences like the Rivals Camp Series.  Odds are he would be a hire prospect if he had.

None of that will matter in the long run.  The kid from Fife, Washington is still Hot and we have not even hit the Summer yet!

Now a question arose as we talked.  At 6'8.5" and pushing 280 lbs McGary is one of the biggest linemen in the Nation.  In fact one of the only other guys bigger then he is would be former Lakewood, Washington (Lakes High School) star linemen Zach Banner.  He is 6'9" + and 330 lbs.  What if he and McGary end up playing tackle on the same field?

Zach Banner is a massive powerful kid for Lakes and now playing Tackle at USC!

"Oh man that would be something wouldn' it?  Actually that might be kind of cool!"

Yes Kaleb it would!

Any school he choses will be a great place to show his size.  That is his obvious attraction.  Having known him for 3 season now we can tell you it is in fact his abiloity to explode and flat out move in space that make him an exciting get for someone.  Really a great development tonight here in the Pacific NW!

Congrats to Kaleb and thanks from all of us to Coach Lane Kiffen for showing a continued interest in the top players from the Pacific NW!
